Who's the FI-sician?

Dr. FI is a 36 y.o. male with a past financial hx (PFH) of $412k of debt and $1.4M in assets who presents with a mild case of burnout and a strong desire to be financially independent. He also is married and has a 2 y.o. son and a very hyperactive golden doodle. Why am I speaking about myself in the 3rd person? I have no idea; but it’s late, I’m tired, and it’s been a long time since I’ve written anything other than a note in a patient’s chart.

I choose to remain anonymous so that I can feel comfortable sharing my personal financial information. My name may be misleading, because I am not yet financially independent (FI). In fact, by my calculations, I am likely at least 7 years away from my FI goal. However, I WILL reach FI and this is my way of documenting my journey and manifesting my dreams. I started this blog because I want to share what I’ve learned so far with all of you, and my mission is to help 1,000 people reach financial independence.

I’ll be sharing my investment approach, retirement plan, and how other HENRYs (High Earners Not Rich Yet) can, well… get rich. While I would consider myself an “enthusiast” investor and may know more than the average joe, I am by no means a financial professional. I hope that what I share, while it should not be considered financial advice, will be educational and inspiring to others in a similar situation.

So come along for the ride, and let’s achieve financial independence together!
